LFS AOSLogistical Forwarding Solutions Autonomous Operating System

LFS AOS FAQ

LFS AOS questions, answered.

How the AI TMS and logistics operating system works for freight brokers, truck dispatchers, trucking companies and truck drivers, and how MT does the work on your yes.

Freight broker questions

Freight broker software and an AI broker TMS in one. See it run on the freight broker page.

What is LFS AOS freight broker software?

LFS AOS is an operating system for your brokerage. MT, your AI coworker, runs the brokerage work: finding shippers, taking in loads, covering them with carriers, following the truck and billing. Every step waits for your yes.

Is LFS AOS a broker TMS?

Yes, and more. It’s a broker TMS and a full operating system in one: loads, carriers, rate cons, check calls, billing, mail and your agents all in one place, with MT doing the work.

How does MT research shippers?

MT searches for companies that ship freight near you, by city or ZIP, and shows what they ship. Then it writes the outreach for you, like “We have capacity in your area.”

Does MT send emails on its own?

Only if you want it to. There’s a toggle. Leave it off and MT puts every email, campaign and marketing message in MT Mail as a draft, and you say yes or no. Turn it on and MT sends for you.

Does LFS AOS offer EDI?

Yes. Shipper loads come straight into MT, with no retyping.

Do I get a private load board?

Yes. Post your loads to your own private board. Only the carriers connected to you can see them.

How are carriers vetted?

Before a load is booked, MT checks the carrier’s authority and insurance with FMCSA by MC or USDOT number and gives you a clear answer: Checks out, Caution or Stop. A deeper check also covers safety scores and out-of-service rates, and MT won’t rely on a check older than 24 hours.

Can I send rate confirmations from LFS AOS?

Yes. You set the terms and send the rate con from LFS AOS. The carrier signs or declines it there, and the load is dispatched only after it’s signed.

Are check calls automatic?

Yes. MT dispatches, follows the load and checks in with the driver. You hear about it when it matters.

Can I call my carriers inside LFS AOS?

Yes. Make voice calls and chat with anyone in your network, right inside LFS AOS. Add a carrier to your network and they go into your contacts automatically.

Can I build an agency with agents under me?

Yes. Bring agents on under you. Each one signs a broker-agent agreement and goes through agent onboarding. Then you work together on calls and team chat inside LFS AOS.

Who can a broker onboard?

Your agents, plus carriers, dispatchers and shippers. Everyone you bring on joins your network.

How does billing work, and can I see my margin?

When the load delivers, MT builds the shipper invoice at your shipper rate. Rate, cost and net show on every load, so your margin is always in view. If you factor, the invoice carries your factoring company’s remit-to from your notice of assignment, so the shipper pays them directly.

Does LFS AOS work with my factoring company?

Yes. Most brokers and carriers use freight factoring, so it’s built into the broker TMS. During onboarding, if you work with a factoring or funding company, you upload your Notice of Assignment (NOA) before you continue. Your invoices then carry the NOA’s remit-to, so shippers pay your factoring company directly, which is what factoring companies require once they’ve bought the invoice. It’s a toggle, so factoring is never forced.

Can a broker also dispatch?

Yes. Broker one load and dispatch another, in the same system.

Does MT do anything without my approval?

No. Nothing is booked or billed without your yes, and nothing is emailed without it unless you turn on auto-send.

How does my brokerage get started with LFS AOS?

LFS AOS is by invitation. Request access and our team sets you up personally.

What do Checks out, Caution and Stop mean?

They’re MT’s plain answer after it checks a carrier’s FMCSA record by MC or USDOT number. Checks out means the record looks right. Caution means something needs a closer look before you book. Stop means don’t book the load. It’s a record check, not a legal finding.

Do brokers see the driver’s location?

No. Brokers get safe updates from check calls, like “Possible delay, about 1 hour,” but never the driver’s location.

Truck dispatcher questions

Truck dispatch software for dispatch services and the carriers they work for. See it run on the dispatch service page.

What is LFS AOS truck dispatch software?

LFS AOS is an operating system for your dispatch service. MT, your AI coworker, helps you find the freight, run the numbers, book with your carrier’s yes, follow the truck and bill your dispatch fee, all in one system instead of five tabs and a notebook.

Is MT an AI dispatcher?

MT is an AI coworker that does the dispatch work with you. It reads rate cons, checks brokers with FMCSA, builds loads, sends the driver the route, runs check calls and files the paperwork. It never books, sends or bills without a yes.

How do I find loads for my carriers?

Work your broker relationships right inside LFS AOS. MT can research any area by city or ZIP, show you the shippers and brokers there and save them to your contacts. Before you book anything, MT checks the broker with FMCSA.

How do I know if a load pays?

The Freight Calculator shows the rate per mile, the all-in rate with deadhead, fuel, driver pay, your dispatch fee and the break-even, using your own lane history. MT doesn’t guess market rates.

Does my carrier approve every load?

Yes. Nothing is booked on your carrier’s truck without their yes. The truck is only dispatched after the rate con is signed.

Who signs the rate confirmation?

The broker sets the terms and sends the rate con. Your carrier, or you as their dispatcher, signs or declines it inside LFS AOS. MT flags costly terms like detention, layover, TONU and lumper before anyone signs, and you decide whether your carrier sees the broker’s rate con.

How do truck dispatchers get paid in LFS AOS?

After delivery, the carrier invoices for the load and you bill your dispatch fee. Your fee with each carrier can be a percent of the gross, a flat amount per truck each month, or per load, set in your agreement.

Do I need a dispatcher carrier agreement?

Yes. Your dispatch agreement with each carrier you work for lives in LFS AOS, and either side can end it.

Do I need authority to dispatch in LFS AOS?

No authority is needed to join LFS AOS as a dispatcher. The carriers you dispatch need active operating authority, and MT checks it with FMCSA.

Who can a dispatcher onboard?

Carriers and their drivers. Everyone you bring on joins your network, and the drivers you add can bring on other drivers too.

How do I keep up with trucks and check calls?

MT sends check calls on its own: after pickup, on the road and before delivery. Drivers answer with a tap, and your office is alerted if a check call goes unanswered. Brokers get safe updates, never the driver’s location.

Can I call my carriers and drivers inside LFS AOS?

Yes. Make voice calls and chat with anyone in your network, right inside LFS AOS. Add someone to your network and they go into your contacts automatically.

Can I dispatch from home or from my phone?

Yes. LFS AOS runs in your web browser and installs on your phone, so you can dispatch from home or on the road.

How does my dispatch service get started with LFS AOS?

LFS AOS is by invitation. Request access and our team sets your dispatch service up personally.

How do I set my dispatch fee for each carrier?

In your dispatch agreement with that carrier. Your fee can be a percent of the gross, a flat amount per truck each month, or a set amount per load.

Do my carriers see the broker’s rate con?

You decide. As their dispatcher, you choose whether each carrier sees the broker’s rate con.

Can I work for a company that also brokers?

Yes. One company can haul, broker and dispatch in LFS AOS, so you can dispatch for a carrier that also brokers loads.

Trucking company and owner-operator questions

An AI TMS for small trucking companies and owner-operators. See a load run on the trucking company page.

What is a TMS in trucking, and what makes LFS AOS an AI TMS?

A TMS (transportation management system) is the software a trucking company uses to manage its loads. Most TMS tools record what happened to a load. LFS AOS is an AI TMS built as a full operating system for small trucking companies and owner-operators. MT, your AI coworker, does the work around the load, from the offer to the money in the bank, and waits for your yes at every step.

What does MT do for my trucking company?

MT reads your rate confirmations, checks brokers with FMCSA, builds the load, sends your driver the stops and the route, runs check calls, files the paperwork and gets the invoice ready. Talk to MT or type. Nothing is booked, sent or billed without your yes.

How do I find loads?

Brokers and shippers offer you loads right inside LFS AOS, and you accept the ones you want. Brokers you’re connected to can post to their private load board, which only their connected carriers can see. MT can also research any area by city or ZIP and show you the shippers and brokers there.

How does LFS AOS handle rate confirmations?

Add the rate con and MT reads it. It copies the numbers exactly and flags costly terms like detention, layover, TONU, lumper, quick pay, fines and tracking rules before you sign. If the pickup number is missing, MT holds the booking until you have it. You sign or decline right inside LFS AOS.

Does MT check my driver’s hours before I book?

Yes. Before you book, MT asks your driver if they’re available and shows their hours-of-service (HOS) clock, so you know the load fits the hours your driver has left.

What does my driver see on the road?

Once the rate con is signed, your driver gets a private link with the stops, the truck route and simple status taps: On my way, Delivered, Resting, Broke down and Need help. Drivers send BOL and POD photos and answer check calls from their phone.

What is a check call in trucking, and does MT make them?

A check call is an update on how the load is going. MT sends check calls on its own: about 2 hours after pickup, every 12 hours on the road (or a schedule you pick), and about 2 hours before delivery. If your driver doesn’t answer, your office is alerted, never the broker. Brokers get safe updates, never your driver’s location.

How does paperwork work: BOL, POD, lumper and fuel receipts for IFTA?

Your driver uploads the BOL (bill of lading), the POD (proof of delivery), lumper receipts and fuel receipts to the load. MT files them to that load, so they’re ready for the invoice, and your fuel receipts are ready for IFTA. Your company packet (COI, W-9, NOA and authority) goes to a broker in one tap.

How do I get paid? Does LFS AOS work with factoring?

When the load is delivered, MT builds the invoice from the load with the paperwork attached. If you factor, you upload your Notice of Assignment (NOA) during onboarding, and your invoices carry its remit-to, so the broker pays your factoring company directly. With your yes, the invoice goes to the broker and your factoring company. It’s a toggle, so factoring is never forced. Mark it sent, then paid, and the load moves to Billed, then Paid, so you always know what’s still owed.

Can I call my drivers and brokers inside LFS AOS?

Yes. Make voice calls and chat with anyone in your network, right inside LFS AOS. Anyone you add to your network goes into your contacts automatically.

Who can my trucking company onboard?

Your drivers, with an online driver application and previous-employer checks built in. Drivers can bring on other drivers and owner-operators who drive for you, plus the dispatchers and brokers you work with. Everyone you bring on joins your network.

How do I get started with LFS AOS?

LFS AOS is by invitation. There’s no self sign-up and no checkout. Request access and our team sets your trucking company up personally.

How do I hire drivers in LFS AOS?

Send the online driver application. Previous-employer checks are built in, and every driver you bring on joins your network.

Does MT check the broker before I book?

Yes. MT checks the broker with FMCSA before a load is booked, and gives you a clear answer: Checks out, Caution or Stop. MT also checks Freight Broker Complaint to see if the broker is in good standing and whether there are any alleged complaints. If there are, MT tells you and puts a caution on the load.

Truck driver questions

A truck driver app with AI dispatch built in, for company drivers and owner-operators. See it on the truck driver page.

Is there an app for truck drivers in LFS AOS?

Yes. LFS AOS runs in your phone’s web browser and installs on your phone like an app. Your loads, stops, truck route and paperwork are in one place, and MT, your AI coworker, works the load with you.

What does MT do for truck drivers?

MT rides with you in the cab. It talks you through the route, the next turn and the ETA, so both hands stay on the wheel. It also runs the check calls and files your paperwork to the load.

Is MT AI dispatch for truck drivers?

MT is the AI coworker behind the dispatch. It reads the rate con, builds the load, sends you the stops and the truck route, runs the check calls and files the paperwork, so you can focus on driving.

What do I see when a load is dispatched to me?

Once the rate con is signed, you get a private link with the stops, the truck route and simple status taps: On my way, Delivered, Resting, Broke down and Need help.

Can a load be booked on my truck without a yes?

No. MT finds the load, reads the rate con and builds it, then waits. Nothing is booked without a yes, and the truck is only dispatched after the rate con is signed.

Does MT ask if I’m available before a load is booked?

Yes. Before a load is booked on your truck, MT asks you if you’re available.

How do check calls work for drivers?

MT sends check calls on its own: about 2 hours after pickup, every 12 hours on the road (or the schedule your office picks) and about 2 hours before delivery. You answer with a tap. If a check call goes unanswered, your office is alerted, never the broker.

Who gets my check call updates?

Your office does. Brokers get safe updates, like “Possible delay, about 1 hour,” never your location.

How do I send the BOL and POD from the road?

Take photos with your phone and upload them to the load: the BOL (bill of lading), the POD (proof of delivery), lumper receipts and fuel receipts. MT files them to that load, so they’re ready for the invoice.

What if I break down or need help on the road?

Tap Broke down or Need help on your load link, and call your office right inside LFS AOS.

Can I call my dispatcher and my office inside LFS AOS?

Yes. Make voice calls and chat with anyone in your network, right inside LFS AOS. Everyone you add goes into your contacts automatically.

Can I bring other drivers onto LFS AOS?

Yes. Every role in LFS AOS can onboard others, and drivers can bring on other drivers. Everyone you bring on joins your network.

Is LFS AOS a trucking app for owner-operators?

Yes. If you own your truck, you drive and run the business in one place: MT finds and builds the load and waits for your yes, then gives you the stops, the route, the check calls, the paperwork and the invoice. The trucking company page shows the business side.

How do I get started as a driver?

LFS AOS is by invitation. Your carrier, your dispatcher or another driver can bring you on, or request access and our team sets you up personally.

Do I have to type while I’m driving?

No. Talk to MT instead of typing. It tells you the route, the next turn and the ETA, so your hands stay on the wheel.

Trucking compliance questions

Trucking compliance software built into LFS AOS, with the FMCSA rules in plain English. See it on the compliance page.

What is LFS AOS trucking compliance software?

Compliance is built into LFS AOS. MT, your AI coworker, handles it top to bottom: driver qualification files, new hires, drug and alcohol testing, pre-trip inspections, vehicle maintenance, annual inspections and IFTA.

What is a driver qualification file?

It’s the file a motor carrier needs for every driver it employs. It holds the driver’s application, the driving record (MVR) from each state, the road test certificate or the CDL accepted in its place, the yearly driving record and review, and the medical examiner’s certificate (49 CFR 391.51). MT builds it as the driver comes on and saves it to the driver’s file in LFS AOS.

How does MT hire a new driver?

The driver fills out the online application. MT reads it and immediately starts the pre-employment investigation, then follows the protocol: Clearinghouse query, drug test, drug consortium, medical card and road test or CDL. All of it happens before the driver gets in the truck, and all of it is saved to the driver’s file in LFS AOS.

What goes on a driver’s application for employment?

Name, address, date of birth and Social Security number, every address for the past 3 years, each commercial license, driving experience and equipment, accidents and traffic convictions for the past 3 years, any license suspension, and employers for the past 3 years. CDL drivers also list CMV driving jobs for the 7 years before that. The driver signs that it’s true (49 CFR 391.21).

What is the pre-employment investigation?

Two checks on every new driver: the driving record (MVR) from each state where they held a license in the past 3 years, and their safety performance history with DOT-regulated employers from the past 3 years, including any drug and alcohol violations (49 CFR 391.23). MT starts both the moment the application comes in.

Does MT handle pre-employment drug testing?

Yes. A driver can’t do safety-sensitive work until there’s a verified negative drug test (49 CFR 382.301). MT puts the test on every new hire’s protocol and saves the result to the driver’s file.

What is a drug consortium, and do owner-operators need one?

A consortium runs random drug and alcohol testing for many companies in one pool. An owner-operator who is their own only driver has to be in a random testing pool with other drivers, and a consortium is how that works. MT sets new drivers and owner-operators up in one during onboarding.

What is a Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query?

Before a driver does safety-sensitive work, the employer runs a full query of FMCSA’s Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse with the driver’s consent, and then queries every driver at least once a year (49 CFR 382.701). MT puts both on the protocol, so nobody is missed.

What has to happen every year for each driver?

At least once every 12 months, pull each driver’s driving record from every state they’re licensed in and review it (49 CFR 391.25), and run the yearly Clearinghouse query. The medical card has to stay current too, and it lasts up to 24 months (49 CFR 391.45). MT tracks every date and handles each one on time.

How do pre-trip inspections and DVIRs work in LFS AOS?

Before driving, the driver makes sure the truck is safe, reviews the last inspection report if it listed defects, and signs it (49 CFR 396.13). At the end of the day, the driver reports any defect in the brakes, steering, lights, tires, horn, wipers, mirrors, coupling, wheels or emergency equipment (49 CFR 396.11). In LFS AOS, defects go to repair and are certified fixed before the truck rolls again.

What goes in a vehicle maintenance file?

Every truck and trailer you control has to be inspected, repaired and maintained on a schedule. Its file shows the unit (number, make, serial number and year, and the owner if it isn’t yours), what’s due and when, and what was done and when (49 CFR 396.3). MT builds that file for every unit, owner-operators’ trucks included.

What is the annual DOT inspection?

Every commercial vehicle, including each trailer in a combination, has to pass a periodic inspection at least once every 12 months, with proof on the vehicle (49 CFR 396.17). MT tracks each unit’s due date and saves the inspection to the truck’s file.

Does LFS AOS handle IFTA?

Yes. If your truck has 3 or more axles or weighs over 26,000 pounds and crosses state lines, you file a quarterly IFTA fuel tax return with your base state, showing the miles driven and fuel bought in each state. Returns are due April 30, July 31, October 31 and January 31. MT handles it, using your drivers’ fuel receipts and the miles from every load.

How do owner-operators come on with compliance?

The same way a new driver does, plus the truck. MT runs the onboarding, then sets up pre-trip inspections, the vehicle maintenance file and the annual DOT inspection, all saved to their file in LFS AOS.

Is compliance included for brokerages and dispatch services?

Yes. Compliance is built into LFS AOS for every trucking company, brokerage and dispatch service, and MT handles it top to bottom.

How LFS AOS and MT work

The logistics operating system, MT, approvals, calls, MT Mail, your network and where LFS AOS runs.

What is a logistics operating system?

It’s one screen that runs your freight business, like the desktop on your computer: apps in a dock, windows you can move, a Files folder, and MT in the middle doing the work. A TMS records what happened to a load. LFS AOS runs the company around the load.

What is MT?

MT is your AI coworker, the orange wheel. Talk or type, and MT reads rate cons, checks brokers and carriers with FMCSA, builds loads, sends your driver the route, runs check calls, files the paperwork and gets invoices ready. 25 years of a circular logistics architect are built inside MT.

How do approvals work?

MT prepares the work, then asks. The gold buttons are your yes: nothing is booked, sent or billed until you tap it.

What rules does MT always follow?

MT copies numbers exactly, never guesses market rates, checks FMCSA before a load, never calls anyone a fraud, uses each facility’s local time, lets brokers set the terms and carriers sign, never shows a broker the driver’s location, and dispatches only carriers.

What is MT Mail, and what does the auto-send toggle do?

MT Mail is mail between connected companies, right inside LFS AOS. MT writes your emails, campaigns and replies. With the auto-send toggle off, each one waits in MT Mail as a draft until you say yes or no. Turn it on and MT sends for you.

Can I make calls inside LFS AOS?

Yes. Make voice calls and chat with anyone in your network, right inside LFS AOS, so you don’t have to jump between apps.

How do my network and contacts work?

Invite the people you work with. Everyone you add joins your network and goes into your contacts automatically. You see who you added and who added you, and either side can end a connection.

Can I onboard other people?

Yes, every role can. Brokers bring on agents, carriers, dispatchers and shippers. Dispatchers bring on carriers and their drivers. Trucking companies bring on drivers, owner-operators, dispatchers and brokers, and drivers can bring on other drivers.

Does LFS AOS work on my phone and my computer?

Yes. LFS AOS runs in the web browser on your computer, and it installs on your phone like an app, so you can work from the office, from home or from the cab.

Can one company broker, dispatch and haul?

Yes. Broker one load, dispatch the next and haul with your own trucks, all in the same system.

Is there help for learning each tool?

Yes. Every tool has a step-by-step how-to with a Show me button, and you can tell MT by voice or text when something should work better. For free freight education, visit Freight University.

Who built LFS AOS

The circular logistics architect and the 25 years behind MT. Read the engine behind LFS AOS.

Who built LFS AOS?

A circular logistics architect with 25 years growing, building and working within the American trucking industry, across education, consulting, compliance and building trucking companies. LFS AOS comes from Logistical Forwarding Solutions.

Is LFS AOS just another AI tool?

No. The AI is the coworker, and the knowledge behind it comes from 25 years of real trucking work. MT is built to reason the way an experienced person in the industry would, and you stay in charge. A load is never booked without your approval.

What does “ask MT anything” mean?

MT knows the FMCSA rules, and it also carries years of trucking education: rates, lanes, finding shippers, starting a company, working with brokers and staying compliant. Ask in plain words, and MT answers and shows you why.

What’s coming next in LFS AOS?

MT is being taught to find shippers and customers for you, contact them with your approval and help you serve your clients. It’s also learning to help brokers and dispatchers keep their carriers compliant, and to help trucking companies run the whole business and bring on owner-operators. These features are in development.
